Cogwheel in the Desert (commish) by SpyroConspirator Cogwheel in the Desert (commish) by SpyroConspirator
A piece commissioned by :iconequilibrik:, Cogwheel from "Fallout Equestria: Sat"
The story can be found here: [link]

I had a lot of fun doing this one. The pallet was inspired mostly by the actual desert I live in (yes, it looks kind of like that! Weird, huh?). The cybernetic limbs were based on actual prosthetics.

I also discovered that it is very difficult to draw a cybernetically-enhanced pony without making it look like the Terminator!

when i first saw this, instead of thinking about the terminator, i kept thinking about simmons 2.0. they're both red and are both cyborgs

Thank you very much! I wasn't even trying for that, but comics were my biggest influence when I was younger, so I suppose it's no surprise. =)

Awesome, you did a fantastic job on the cybernetics. Those were what had me most worried, because cyberlimbs are a pain to draw at times. They actually remind me of Blackjack's cyberlimb descriptions, except Cogwheel's aren't as good, more civilian based technology than military technology. Anyway they look fantastic, as does Cogwheel, I like the desert environment, a little ironic actually that he's in a desert since he arrived in an area with fertile trees in the latest chapter XD.

Thank you! xD Darnit, of course he'd find one of the three fertile areas on the entire planet! Ah, well. =) Glad you like it.

It isn't entirely fertile, least from what I read. Bu there seem to be living trees, could be mutant trees like the ones in Project Horizons.
